FAQ
We want to make it as easy as possible for you to come to church and experience the great music, encouraging messages, friendly people and enjoyable atmosphere that are a part of Genesis. Our services are contemporary, with worship songs before and after a main message (sermon). We also often incorporate other multimedia as part of our service. The entire service usually lasts a little more than an hour. Here's a quick step-by-step look at what you can expect.
- What do I wear? Dress casual! We have a friendly and casual atmosphere, but dress the way you feel most comfortable, whether it's jeans, business casual or a suit and tie. Don't worry about what you are wearing - we're more concerned with meeting your real life needs than with your wardrobe.
- Where do I park? Genesis' property is long and skinny, so while we have plenty of parking on our property north of the auditorium, the distance gives you the chance to work off your breakfast.
- What do I do with my kids? By all means, bring 'em! Genesis has a wonderful program for children ages birth - 5th grade. While the parents are enjoying the service, the kids are learning about God at their level.
- What about my kids' safety? Safety and security are very important to us, so you will need to register your child at the Genesis Kidz Check in desk. If this is your first visit, someone will help direct you to the room that is most appropriate for your child.
- Why does Genesis already have a campus if it is a "church plant?" We acquired the facilities formerly occupied by Gilbert Christian Church when it closed its doors in 2007.
- May I have a donut? While we desire that you spend eternity with God, we don't want to send you on to glory any faster than what is necessary. For this reason, we have declared Genesis to be a "donut-free" zone, a church that honors God with everything He has given us, including our bodies. There's nothing that nullifies, "Hey, God loves ya," like a chunk of refined sugar-glazed fried dough.
